What
is MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP)
MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP) is designed primarily
for devices with low processing power such as mobile and wireless
devices and is ideally suited for video telephony, video-conferencing,
or real-time desktop software encoding. MPEG-4 SP, also known as
MPEG-4 Part 2, and MPEG-4 AAC, are key video formats adopted by
Sony for its handheld entertainment device, the Sony PlayStation
Portable (PSP).

Widespread
Introduction and Support
The release of CyberLink PowerEncoder MPEG-4
AVC prepares OEM customers for the widespread introduction of products
and services based on the MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and MPEG-4 SP formats.
These formats support a range of video-based applications delivering
the key benefits of small file sizes and high-quality video including
the transmission of TV over DSL connections, via digital terrestrial
TV (DVB-T), plus multiple high-definition video programs via satellite
or cable services. The ability to store more high-definition content
on DVD also offers attractive options for home cinema, while the
improved reliability of MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-4 SP and MPEG-4 AAC compression
supports video and audio transmissions via mobile phone systems.
PowerEncoder
MPEG-4 AVC makes previewing and capturing from DV camcorders as
easy as they come. All your cherished home movies will be converted
in no time.

devices for the easy capture of video using a wide variety of file
formats: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DV-AVI, and DivX. Dolby Digital audio decoder
is also supported, ensuring that audio in unprotected movie discs
can be transcoded into MPEG-1 Layer II audio and then played back
using Media Viewer and Windows Media Player. PowerEncoder MPEG-4
