Tips & Tricks: How to Detect Your PowerDVD Version & Audio Capabilities

With PowerDVD 2.5 and up, there is one quick and easy way for you to find out what version of PowerDVD you have and whether it is a 2 or multi-channel version. To do so, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open PowerDVD and then locate the "CyberLink" logo on the user interface (Please note the image below). Once you have located it, move your mouse icon over it and click on it. Note: If your PowerDVD software came bundled with hardware it might not display the "CyberLink" logo, but that of the hardware company. However, this feature will still work the same.

Step 2: Once you have clicked on the logo, an information menu will appear. This menu will offer you general information about your PowerDVD software, including information about what version you have. To find out the audio information, double click on the PowerDVD image located on the left side of the menu. (Please note the image below).

Step 3: After double clicking on the image, a second menu will open. This menu will display more information about PowerDVD, including your "Audio Capability". If the number shows 2, then you have a 2 channel version. If it states 4 or 6, you have a multi-channel version. (Please note the image below).
